Can they only be used in Office type of setting or can they work with Fibre ONT too such as Airtel ?
You need something to register these with. In a Cisco environment, that would be a Cisco CUCM or for a cloud deployment, could be WebEx. You could flash these with a SIP firmware and register them to something like an Asterisk PBX box.
These are for office, SOHO, end user devices. A little learning curve though.

PS: I used to work as a Cisco Collaboration Consultant so I know what I am talking about.

I might pick up the 7942 from you for my Security home lab. Let me check my funds.

Damn. Needed an intercom of sorts for home and thought these would fit the bill. Any basic ones you can recommend for home (which don't need a whole environment to be set up) ?

How technical are you? You could run an Asterisk server (its free btw and obviosly open source) and register these phones and use it for office purposes.

I have own OFC network , digital exchanges . Can i use them ? Presently using Matrix exchange and phone
Except few place have analog phones which involves unnecessary line extension through LAN cables etc . Wanted to change analog phones to these but these IP phones but they were very expensive to tune of 15k and above
So
can i use them ? If yes might pick them up.

I have used older Cisco IP phones and it's drool maal on desk. Superb call quality. Definitely deploying and learning curve is there.

You absolutely can. Check my other response regarding using these with an Asterisk box. If you are up for learning the whole jargon of current gen collaboration and VoIP, go ahead. You will love it and obviously, would learn something new.
I am currently not involved with anything VoIP since I switched gears to Cyber Security but still remember a thing or two from my earlier days.
