If you want to buy and add a message it requires moderator approval...which i did not get for over two days...Both the moderator and the person who has messaged have lives and the criteria of "disciple" is too stringent if you are a lurker in the forum and occasionally message...like come on guys...

Well if it were that easy, you'd see many more scams on here, there have been some cases even with such stringent criterias. I have been on this forum for over 2 years now and I have been able to trade even while being a recruit.

Moderator approval has been great so far but yeah everyone has a life and it can take some time.

Waiting for moderator approval is very annoying. @avanildutta posted multiple items for sale and I am the first one to respond as I want to buy the hdds but it's been a day and my comment is still waiting moderator approval. He has already sold a couple of items. The same happened earlier with a ram I wanted to buy. I love the feedback system here and also the community is great too. It's just missing the great deals that annoys me. How am I going to improve my rank without buying anything.

Well yes rules are very stringent for the newbies who come here for becoming instant sellers .

We should open a poll and vote against the Mods for not taking this action sooner
or
still not adequately increasing the number of required posts
or
not adequately advertising the reseller account for these purposes ;)

I just comment in some buy threads and I genuinely want to buy some of the stuff, yet the @mods or whosoever the staff is just straight up blocks or deletes my messages. This has happened multiple times. So, I would kindly want a review into my comments that what was so problematic in them that they are getting deleted.

Experienced something weird with my posts since Thursday 16th Feb.
I haven't reached the 25 posts count yet so my posts need moderator approval and I can't initiate DM's.

On 16th Feb at around 11:15 PM I posted a request for initiating DM in a classifieds thread. As usual it needed to be approved by the moderators. I checked 17th Feb morning but still the post was not approved. I understand that the moderators also have a life so I waited but even in the afternoon the post was not approved, so I reposted at around 11:00 am in the same thread but even after waiting for a couple of hours the post was not approved.
Since I cannot DM anyone or initiate a post I used the "Contact us" link to ask if there are any issues with the approval of the posts but did not receive any response.
Today morning I found that both of my posts waiting for approval were nowhere to be found. They were visible in the activity area in my profile yesterday but are no longer there.

So I posted in the thread today 18t Feb at around 10:25 AM and waited for the message to be approved by the moderator. Upon checking back at 10:35 AM the message is no longer there. I appears that the posts are not being approved. I have taken screenshots of my posts and can share them if needed.

Since I cannot DM anyone or initiate posts I cannot reach out to the moderators directly. Can any of the moderators please let me know the reason for this and help me out here.

@mods if you guys are seeing this can anyone atleast tell me why my messages are getting removed, it's not just this most of my messages aren't getting approved.

Atleast a reason as to why they are not being approved would be helpful. I posted a message in another thread for buying a GPU and PSU and that wasn't approved either. I missed buying a mouse because my message took way too long to be approved.

Commenting here because i don't know where else to message you guys. Feel free to remove this but atleast something helpful in the PM's would be much appreciated.

I just hope it isn't plain abuse of power

I felt the same initially a few months back. But believe me, the journey was worth it and discussing with fellow TE folks is always fun while you get to the Disciple stage. This forum is Reddit's dad if you go by the age, so it makes sense there is some quality control.

How many messages are required to be able to post on Buy/Sell threads without mod approval ?
