PC Peripherals CM ACTS 840 Vs CM HAF 932

apollyon

ex-Mod
I need to choose between these two, performance wise both look to be the same but i hate the fugly front bezel of the HAF. The 840 looks awesome and is huge but is it worth the extra 6k? Also the absence of fans on the side panel is a bit worrisome
Any 840 users here? need some actual hands on feedback :)
thanks

Its an ATCS 840! :p

The ATCS is expensive cos of the all-aluminium finish and the removable motherboard tray; the HAF could be no where in comparison to that lol. I personally hate the HAF. No offense meant to HAF users. :p

Wonder if there're any 840 users here. None that I know of/heard of/seen of.

PS: Why not the Antec 1200? For 12k I guess you cant ask for more. :p

ATC 840 ''Raytheon'', it looks awesome. I also hate HAF :p, also inquire Thermaltake Spedo Advanced price, interiors r best, black painted, 2 120MM exhaust, refined HAF. here.

After the amount spent on benching, do you always make it a point to put your hardware back in a case???? 8 months of a year my hardware lies outside on a table but thats not because I bench all the time but because I am a damn lazy guy, My stacker is collecting dust just like that without being used. Just that when I get a big scolding from my better half and a warning that she will put water on my setup that I take the pain to put it all back, to be moved back outside again in a few weeks/month.

For me it was a waste of money buying a sorta high end cabby. If you think you will use it wisely then ofcourse I will suggest the ATC 840 ''Raytheon'' over the HAF anyday.

@gannu, typo re. and i hate antec cabbys. have seen the 1200 and its cramped compared to both the haf and the 840. i forgot to mention, space too is a very important consideration :p
@banik, my bench setup is in no way involved with my personal pc, they dont share any common hardware.
looks like its gonna be the 840, just wanted to make sure am not making a mistake paying 6k over the HAF
anyone interested in a chieftec lbx cabby? :p

its acts hands down dude. no comparison at all.
I myself was never a fan of haf932. which is why i picked up the nzxt tempest which cheaper than a haf. i would have gone for the acts myself but there is no space to fit that cabinet.

do check out the tempest if you are looking for a cheaper solution

ATCS.... no doubt about it. I hate overdone HAF. No doubt it the cooling on HAF is awesome, but pointless for me. I'm tired of cleaning my CM690 almost every two months due to dust. I'll go MAD if I get HAF in my house. :p

dude when i saw d haf in pics i hated it. but it doesnt look bad at all in real.

even i was stuck b/w atcs n haf. but 6k more for atcs is just not bloody worth it. unless ur money grows on a tree or something.

both of them use different cooling mechanisms.

haf uses brute force and atcs uses air flow basics. they both cool almost equally, haf has the edge though.

the ONLY issue with haf is dust. and NOT looks(trust me it looks pathetic on the box pictures but is so much better in real life, dont fall for the damn pics).

the only advantage of atcs is the removable tray and better looks. out of which removable tray is only for ppl who keep their rigs outside, or change alot, etc etcl(which i am not one of) n i was sure as hell not payin 6k just for looks. so haf is the way to go. its performance is not matched by any case in and around the price range.

Hate is a very strong word.
'Strongly dislike' i what u all imply imho. :)

HAF is like a GI Joe (or more of Cobra) utility.
ATCS840 seems like a CM equivalent of a comparable Lian li/Silverstone case.

Both appeal to different age groups imho.
If one is quite young but likes ATCS, they maybe assumed to be mature and classy.
If one is older but likes HAF, they haven't grown up yet imho or can be a case of VFM buy, more airflow per Rupee. :p
