As for the burning part goes, use 60ml shot glasses, fill em up but not completely, Initially use one matchstick and keep it just .5mm away from the liquid or touch it just a bit and before it extinguishes use toothpickes.

It'll light up soon with a blue flame. blow within 10-30secs otherwise it gets quite hot. Serve with lemon if required.

Yeah right!! That would be the most stupid way to get yourself injured :P Why would I wanna do that? We should leave such things to the professionals. :P
 
nahi yaar... its's lotta fun specially with chicks..

they go like whoo whats that whaaas that.. specially when they're high.

I've got lucky on 2 separate occasions due to the flaming shots :D

Vodkas have no flavor of their own (unless you buy flavored :P ) and any half decent Vodka's alcohol nip will be neutralized by the right mixers so I am guessing that the mixers you tried weren't right (since you say you didnt like the taste...but then what you tasted were the mixers)

Grey Goose isnt meant for a cocktail party with a bunch of friends, while Finlandia and Absolut are overpriced in India...

Smirnoff remains the best VFM Vodka for partying with friends...

And if anyone claims they can distinguish between Smirnoff, Absolut and Finlandia in a mixed drink, you are more than welcome for a blind test at my house

On a side note, Bluffy, the recipe you posted seems like a recipe for disaster...(mixing whiskey with dark & white Rum,,,WTF) :P

Trust me on this and keep your cocktails simple, and everyone will love em...
 
^Hey even I thought so, but that recipe has got a 5 star rating from more then 800 people at tuleeho.:P

I always mix vodka with sprite. And yes, I hate sprite. I once had vodka shots with lemon and salt, didn't like the taste. I also used to have vodka with lime cordial and water, that was not too bad actually.

But the thing is , I mostly have hard drinks when I am sad or lonely and at such times I like feeling the kick you get from tasting a neat whiskey or a rum for that matter. As they say : Gum ka saathi Rum :P

Btw how is "Fuel" Vodka?
 
blasphemy if you are going to use greygoose in cocktails :P ...use smirnoff ,

and for a dark rum cocktail , i blv its called cuba libre , rum + limejuice + coke i think ..

somewhere between an entry level Romanov and mid-level Smirnoff,,,safest bet would be to stick with Smirnoff

You get marginal improvement with Absolut over Smirnoff beyond which all Vodkas are more or less the same (Vodkas are unique in that respect, the more taste neutral the Vodka, the better it is, which means you can't do much better beyond a price point)

Mix all three (lemon/salt/codial/water or Soda) and it'll be excellent :P

^Oh thanks. Actually I saw its bottle and it looked attractive so thought it must be good. Smirnoff is pretty decently priced. How much does absolut cost?
 
^You like Blender's pride? It never suited my taste. For me its either Royal stag or McDowells when I am on a budget. Otherwise its signature.

Also I thought that Old Monk was the best VFM in Dark Rum :P
