just bought myself a domain name, this was cheaper than even what sify etc. sold last year. OMG I have already forgotten the name, got it, www.overclockingxtreme.com, pretty sick name, :)

@lifezgood, now you need to host a website either through the paid services of godaddy which are infact one of the best, or through any other free hosting services which will be pretty basic in a lot of things.

Edit : Just checked, the domain comes with free hosting services. Pretty amazing deal seriously

^Are you guys paying through paypal or direct cc ?

Cause won't we be charged a 3% foreign currency markup on our cc's ?

^^ so that means I can host the website directly at godaddy...

I am no expert man, have hosted only 1 domain before, but yeah pretty much they give you the space on their server, db server details(maybe), and you go ahead with setting up a website if you know how, its not template based afaig, so if you dont know how to setup a website then maybe you might need some help.

I paid through CC, man for $1 you are getting domain with hosting from the best webhost provider and you still thinking about 3% foreign currency markup, thats a new level of cheapness, :P , but yeah we indians are cheap. :ohyeah:

I have registered a domain name but how to use it

you need a web hosting to host your domain name. You just need to change nameserver address of domain name from domain control panel.

Godaddy is not popular with web hosting. At most webmaster forum, I have read that Godaddy hosting sucks.

well, great offer... but i don't have a credit card (thanks to those morons at ICICI)! so how do i pay?... also, if i use my friend's card, are the charges recurring? i don't want to take any risk as it is going to be his money next years, if it recurs. also, if it is indeed recurring, is there any way to stop it?

@thebanik: where is the option to select free hosting? or is it by default?

@all: any idea till when is this offer valid?

No its not recurring, when you register just remember to disable auto renewal.

Free hosting is automatically added :)

0.99$ is only for first year. Renewal charge will be normal (8-10$ per year).

Yes, you can pay using your friends credit card. After making payment via CC, the CC will be added in your profile. Just delete the CC from your profile, and Godaddy won't charge again from your friend's CC

I don't think it is default.

Coupon can expire anytime. It all depend on Godaddy.

Where did you see that? I don't see any hosting services mentioned in my check out basket.

Use Paypal to generate a one-time use virtual card #.
