Come all: Need help building similar setup

Hi,
Just saw this over engadget link and I'm in love with that hyeah:

I'm thinking to build similar case mod for my PC, as it is we are soon making new furniture for the house will make similar table for this mode.

Can anyone explain the mechanism of it? I'm not going to opt for Watercooling but just the motherboard in desk. What all will I need and is it safe? also mounting the board on wood will be better or should I go with aluminium plate as shown in the above link?

All you need is a solid table with a glass/acrylic top. There is no harm on mounting on the wood since you will need the same brass stand-offs used for chassis. You could get this from the local computer outlets. Ensure good ventilation and you are done. If you need some bling-job, mount UV tubes underneath the glass/acrylic panel and hide them from the direct view from the user. Hunt the market for boards that have UV reactive slots - DFI used to, they are no longer in the business. There may well be others though.

Get a sketch done using Google Sketchup (pretty easy) and instruct your carpenter to do it for you.
