Ok i called this manufacturer to buy the vgurd digi 100 they have all branded UPS,Inverters he even has the DIGI 100 here is the website:

Chennai Inverters, Chennai UPS, Chennai Power Inverters, Chennai Batteries, Power UPS and Inverters, Inverters in Chennai

They say Vguard uses only aluminium in their digi series but they use copper in their product and have double boosters for best performance they say their stabilizer could be tailored to my needs all specifications are customers choice. And they say vguard digi 100 will provide 240V when the mains is 280V but their 1Kva stabilizer will provide 230V;).The cost is RS 2500 for their product DG100 is selling for the same amount in chennai. They said if i place the order today it will take a couple of days and they will come to my house to fix the thing. They Even said i can buy the digi 100 if i did not like it they will provide me with another stabilizer according to my specification :hap2:

I dont know anything about aluminium/copper ,double booster things:ashamed: should i go for their product please advise:huh:.

I will be watching this thread closely... do post your experiences if you buy their stuff. I'm also in chennai and looking for an inverter solution. :D

well my guess is they have a voltage cut off anything higher then 230v.the v-guard cuts of the voltage at 240v.when i spoke to V-Guard repair tech he said they can even adjust it to 220v ,so that ain't a big deal.
about the copper and aluminum, well from what i have seen in various V-Guard transformers they use only copper not aluminum.

ask them specifically as where they use copper.

^^Vguard website says if the input voltage is 280V it will trim it to 240V .If the voltage goes to 167V it will boost it to 200V.The company eng. said their product will trim the voltage to 230V and said the vguard in real wont perform
like they say in their ad:.I dont know what this double boost is but if i have to guess i think what he was saying is unlike the Vguard their stbilizer will provide more voltage when their is a low voltage ie..boost +boost=Double boost:rofl:.

Today i called Vguard helpline the dude who picked the phone had no idea about anything. Will call them tomorrow to confirm the digi series has the aluminium thing or not:P.

The above mentioned company says to measure the high and low voltage on an hourly basis with a digital meter to find out the cut off range.I dont have those digital meter's even if i had one i probably will electricoute and Kill myself if i tried to use it:no:.

I need a stabilizer to protect my BR1000-IN which is going kaput at an alarming rate.Even APC guys are clueless as to why my replacements are going Bad this fast:@

well do note i too use a V-Guard stabilizer+apc ups,i have measured it using multi meter.the v-guard voltage never went above 230v ,more in the range of 218v to 225v when the input was like 270v.
u can use a multimeter safely to measure the voltage.

Guys from Chennai,

If you want to buy a high quality stablizer, then look no further than SYSCOM, they are a very reliable brand well known in Chennai

My family have been using them for ages now, and my recent purchase was 1KVA auto stab for my PC

Its costed 1300, comes with two 3 pins and 1 2 pin

Buy it from Adeesh Electronics, Ritche st, they are the main distris

I wouldn't risk my PC or any electronics with crappy stabs

Guys Double boost stabilizers are pretty useful in areas where there is a lot of voltage fluctuation. Even i am in chennai, Saligramam. This summer there was a constant voltage fluctuation and the voltage dropped in the nights as low as 150-160 volts. A normal stabilizer would provide a max out put of 195-200V when the input is 175 Volts. The normal output of 220 volts comes in only when the input is above 210 volts.

Double boost stabilizer can handle between 145-150 volts to provide a output of 200-210 volts.

I experienced it first hand cos my AC compressor would struggle and shut down when the voltage was low with the free stabilizer supplied with it and when changed to double boost stabilizer its rectified and i was amused to find the double boost provided 210 volts output under load when the input was 170 volts.

Go for Syscom as Spectre said... Its really good... If you have the money to spend you can go for triple boost as well....

Too late I just paid Rs 500 as advance the guy said total cost of the double boost thing is Rs2200 he even quoted Rs 4900 for a servo that he said will give constant 230V but said for my purpose its not needed:ashamed:.After reading the above posts should i let go of the 500 Bucks and go for the syscom i am kinda confused now:huh:.My voltage on powerchute most of the time is between 200-210V at night it goes above 250v also i get 170V like 10 times a day i even get 0V at least one time during the day it lasts for a fraction of a second though:rofl: .The stabilizer that i ordered has a range of 140V-280V
I will get it by tomorrow evening so guys pls advise i am ready to let go of the 500 bucks if you want me to;).

@spectre is the 1KVA SYSCOM a double booster??.If not could you tell me the price of a syscom double booster stabilizer?.COuld you give me the syscom distri. phone number:).

I am not sure, if its a double booster or not, but i have had some extreme voltages few times and this stab has handled it for my rig /touchwood

and try getting the 500 back, don't invest in any unbranded models, (maybe chinese OEMS too )

well to give you an idea... double boost 4kva stabilizer for my ac costed just 3.3k. I guess 1kva double boost should cost around max of 1.5k

And Sam000 regarding the voltage fluctuation that you have quoted is pretty normal and i am pretty sure that any UPS would withstand that...

You know what i am using the old free 4kva stabilizer that came with the AC to stabilize the voltage for one of my room completely. Electrician charged just 150rs and he did this and now the fans and tubelights are running without a hitch....

Sorry for the late reply guys :(.This is what happened i went to the manufacturer it was in a rented flat with no Billboards .I went in the place looked like a junk yard inverters lying around for repair everywhere .The owner introduced himself and started brain washing me why i should not buy the Digi 100 i got very confused so called my dad who talked to him for some time then he told me to place the order for the UPS with him which i did and the guy delivered the UPS the next day so i returned home thinking all my power worries are gone:bleh:.When i connected the stabilizer to my APC it was consistently boosting the voltage to 258V then the APC will trim it to 250-252v IMMEDIATELY(I thought this was how double boost will work:rofl:):S.The next day i opened the even viewer to see the APC was Trimming the voltage all night:no:.When i told this to my dad he talked to the guy he accepted that some fault is their and promised to return the money which he did yesterday:ohyeah:

On spectre advise i called adeesh electronics they said i should go for servo based stabilizer if i wanted consistent voltage.SYscom had no 1KVA servo model only 2KVA servo was available with them (Rs8000).They had another brand for Rs5000 which was 1KVA said it was syscom but it had a diff. name:no:

In my other thread someone said i should go for ordinary stabilizer APC will take care of the rest.So decided not to go for the expensive servo based ones.Went to viveks to get the DIGI 100 the cheats said the price was Rs 3090 i was like :S :(.So went to Rathna fan house in t nagar and got it for Rs 2590:hap2:.

After connecting the DIGI 100 My event viewer is registering 4-5 Blackouts every hour:huh: but no under voltage or high voltage is observed:clap:.The whole night my APC provided AVR boost only 8 TIMES:hap2:.I am also getting voltage between 210-230:ohyeah:.

Thanks spectre ,kishore, adder for all the support:).

Good choice ,congrats

But on Syscom, let me clarify, there is some miscommunication from them i guess

I still have the bill i bought one for me and for my friend

Model: 1KVA Aishwarya A.V Stab for 1300 net

i dont know if its double boost or anything like that, but the price you mentioned is way too high than i bought it for
