Hello Guys ! This one is tricky but no offence against smokers here or the one who don't try to kill others and take it alone.

I am in situation right now and i think i need legal advice or something like that.

In my neighbourhood i have like 3 Shops selling cigrattes. Challo not a problem until they make arrangements for entertainment and mostly students ( in major as clg is just 500 meters away ) stay smoking in the area form morning to late 10:30 pm to 11:00 pm.

I want it shut as my mom as started feeling suffocations now a days ! Public smoking is a crime and this is really pain in the A$$.

What steps can be taken up to bring this chutiya's down ? shop owner are dada like in area and it's better not to talk about their ladies. This all is what my mom never complained till now but it has crossed the limits. Even our area name as changed to Mami's aada.

So guys, what can be done ? Help me out !

yeah, i feel your pain. there's some old guy in our building who smokes beedi and the whole building stinks up with that unbearable smell. its like smelling baygon spray. wonder how these people take it in their lungs and like it.

What type of entertainment Is that exactly?
Are you alone or you have others too in your area suffering the same?

What city are you from ?
File a local police complaint and also check with health department (will let you know exact goverment department, smoking openly is offence), try to get some neighbours/people alongwith, that would make more impact.
also post on few goverment site(s), social media (anti-smoking) is growing very strong..

They provide carrom board mostly. one shop have 2 chess boards too. Problem is this shops on road side. My house is behind one shop. their is galli road and other shop + their house with size of first shop and my house ! In the end we are the only one who suffers the most. Other neighbour are afriad or gone case same as them or they don't mind as smoke don't reach them >_<

Multiple that by every guy that comes and smoke.

Get together and launch complaint as group.
Here people only come together for election, free ka khana in elections, marriages, or on 13th day of someones death [emoji58]

Try to speak with them to shift their direction..If that is not possible or if it looks like they are not the type of person to take your request seriously then no need to speak with them make a secret video, take pictures or collect as much evidence as possible & send them to police station, media, whatsapp, facebook or whatever access you have. You can keep yourself anonymous too.

Give a written complain to your local police station, and one to the concerned health department maybe the municipal board too.. Lastly write a complain in the public greviance deptt portal. The public greviance complain is very effective as i have got very positive response from them and have made officials from BSNL and also Electricity Board to get my attention.. So above all on todays date atm public greviance complains are very effective. You just have to sit at home, drop a complain in their portal, select appropiate deptt provided their and post.. Say within a week or twos time you should get some response and i am guessing that response will be in your favour. But before doing that i advice 1st give a letter as i stated above to the local police station and to the health deptt and mentioned in that lettet that you have been facing the problem since long and if no actions are taken you will be forced to file a complain in public greviance portal or to the PM office. These words make the educated higher ranked officials shake in fear. So advice write so heavy justicied words and give the letter to the ones who are at a higher level that seems educated.. Use words like smoking in public is an offence by law.. Public grevience(PG) .. Etc etc.. And ya always keep a copy of the letter you have given to the officials with their signature in it. Like received on date.... Ao that you can use that letter to submit as proof that before reaching out PG or higher authorities you did reach out the cops and local authoroties first..

I dont want to sound like a defeatist, but I feel nothing can be done about this.

Outside my building, at a major intersection, there is a paanwallah/cigarette shop/refreshment shop etc. He has expanded his small shop to almost twice the size. 7PM onwards, high nuisance value. Pretty sure some police help is there since I dont see anyone coming to see the traffic nuisance caused. since the shop is on a lane which has a school - yes its 500m away, but the school students come via this lane only. I feel bad when the bus gets stuck at the intersection, and all the students are looking at these chaps who are puffing away.

One consolation might be that there is a new school coming in the vicinity, and its less than 200m away, he might need to relocate his shop ;)
