Just wanted to suggest that dealers could also stock compressed air cans and sell them on TE. I'd like to know if there is there a reason for not doing so...or is it just that no dealer has thought about it yet.

+1, I'd certainly pick a couple of those up. The dust here is getting maddening will all the construction around!

;)

I had thought about this long ago. But it's a risky task sending a compressed can in courier , and as of now , i don't want to take that up.

Couriers might give you a problem too for shipping unless you know them very well.

When I want to get something really cleaned properly with air I take the hardware to my Dentist who has an air compressor used for cleaning teeth - he is in the next building to mine :D

Thanks for the link Eazy. Would be picking up a can or two soon :) .

Hmmm... I use my old-ass vaccum cleaner. It has facility to use the suction pipe where the exhaust is... making it a one powerful blower. :)

why dont you guys use blower instead?

Blower... too simple.

We guys won't leave a single thing in our system tinkered/tweaked/modded/changed and you think we would do something as simple as that... :bleh:

A few points...

When using compressed air cans take care to blow air in short bursts and keep nozzle a few inches away from hardware as there can be a build up of moisture otherwise. Also dont blow air onto a fan as the fans blades spin wildly, and I understand this can do harm to the fans bearings. If you need to clean the fan put a pencil or screwdriver thru the fan to stop the fans blades from spinning.

Because the moving air (especially if its dry) causes a lot of static buildup, which could fry the electronics. And one more thing to keep in mind - never use the compressed air can up side down.
