Hi,
Can someone please help me configure the Dlink GLB 502T
for Airtel from the starting???
I really need this.
Or if someone can give me a link to a guide or something......
Thanks everyone:)

if u have all the wires connected and the modem drivers installed then heres how to do it..

1. open ie and point it to 192.168.1.1 that should be the local ip of the modem. if it is not so let me know i will let you know how to find it out..

2. once the 192.168.1.1 opens it`ll ask u for a password give login as admin
and password as admin

3. once inside u`ll be at a home screen

4. open the wizard.

5. in the wizard select a.timezone b.bridged mode c. 1,32,1483 bridged...

6. and provide nothing else..

7. restart the modem..it`ll prompt u to do so..

8. once restarted.. go to network connections in control panel... and say newconnection
a. create a conn. to the inet.
b. create it manually
c. connection using login and pass(2nd choice.) its got the letters PPPoE.
d. give a isp name and then ur fulll user id and passwd whic u must be having..
e. say finish

9. connect and ur done...

Thanks alot

Can someone please tell me what is the diff between bridged mode and PPPoE mode?

Hmm.....are u sure those settings are for GLB 502T?
Cos when i start my modem on factory settings,i dont get a wizard to choose bridged, timezone etc
Even the manual i got with it tells me to straight away create a connection from inside the 192.168.1.1 page

yes definately these will work... on the homepage there should be a run wizard button...

and ya there are 2 modes... 1 bridged mode.. wic allows u to create a dialup connection and put the l/p in ur windows dial up networking connection and do the connection part.. the modem is just a bridge between the 2 systems..

or there is 2. a pppoe mode.. where the modem is a server to your computer. and client to the network.. ie the modem functions as a router.. the l/p info is given to the modem.. and the modem is always on and connected.. all u do is switch on ur computer and open ie and www.... thats is no connect no nothing..
