Audio Confused about choices in 5.1 Ch setup

well, I wanna upgrade to a 5.1 setup but am really spoilt for choices... the options I am looking at are
1) Altec Lansing VS3251E 3.5-4k
2) Creative T6060 3.5-4k
3) Logitech X-540 5-5.5k
4) Philips SPA2600 3.5-4k

well above are the choices for a new ones.. obviously will buy a Z5300 if I can get one 2nd hand :)

so now please enlighten the path for me... I have heard that Altec Lansing is far better at price to performance and sometimes even competitively and it has wireless remote too!!! :huh:

any other speaker suggestions are also welcome but please tell me some reason to select them :)
 
It would be better, if you mention your budget and whats the main usage of the speakers (is it for music, movies or gaming?, mention the ratio in which you will be using it for). It will help audio gurus to suggest you a good speakers.
 
its main purpose is for gaming and then movies.. not a music buff, rarely listen to them...

budget may vary but at max is 5k if I had to go and have no other option....
