Confused between 9060 XT and 7800 XT

I was looking for an upgrade to my GPU and was almost set on 7800 XT. However, today I saw the performance and price of 9060 XT and now I'm a bit confused.

I currently have a 3060 12GB. 9060 XT is about 50% faster and 7800 XT is about 100% faster than 3060. However, with RT, both 9060 and 7800 give similar FPS. I'm not too much into graphics and don't need ultra settings and 144 FPS. I'm fine with 50-60 FPS and decent looking graphics.

With the price difference between the two being 8-10k, I was wondering which one makes more sense at this point.

7800XT. Not all games use RT

Raster wins here.

I don't think RT matters that much at this perf level. Also, once you get used to high framerates, 60 fps will seem not great visually.
So i wouldnt think too much about RT. But FSR3 is more or less terrible ( maybe 4k q is ok)

7800xt is 20% faster in raster as per techspot/HUB. And is actually slower in heavy RT games. So RT only but optimized games like Avatar will have smaller gap.

If you will use FSR4, then it will close the gap i think and you save money. Tough question. For games without FSR4, obv 7800xt will be faster. But it seems its also 22% more exp ( assuming 36k vs 36k+ 8k ).
So doesn't seem to have extra value.
And will use more power.

Unless its at similar price, i dont see point and will go for 9060xt 16gb. Only exception is if you play raster only old games without FSR. Even then you get what you pay for, its not better value.

I started thinking same, but conclusion changed as i started writing and looked at data, small data based on 1 review though.

Reasons - FSR4 + it is cheaper, starts around 36k. In some heavier RT games, 9060XT performs better. There will be more games in future with always-on RT like Indiana Jones & AC Shadows. I kind of agree though that RT is not viable at this performance class, but still just because of always on RT, better to have the better performer with superior upscaling. No idea if 7800XT will get FSR4, but it might be AMD's RTX 20 series moment.

Well you would be paying 22-25% more for a last gen card that performs 22-25% better. I would rather save the money and get the newer card. Don't forget that the 9060 XT has significantly lower power draw. Also as Omega mentioned above, we will be having more games with always-on RT in the future, so a 9060 XT does seem to be the more sensible purchase.

EDIT: Any funny how the ~35K 9060 XTs seem to be mostly gone. Looks like price's settled at ~37K, but you are still saving quite a bit of money.
