Hi guys,

I am a little confused with the choice of modem + routers available in the market and have been wasting a lot of time trying to google up the required info.

Figured it was best not to reinvent the wheel and just ask for help :)

I need a wifi router + adsl modem clubbed into a single device with the following features:

1. Needs to do 802.11n, preferably N300. N150 will do too.
2. Should have an adsl modem built in, to work with MTNl
3. Gigabit ports, since a network hard drive will be linked to it, might need to move large volume of data (~30gigs) which is no fun over 100mbps
4. A USB port which supports reliance netconnect data cards.
5. Should be compatible with tomato or similar custom firmware
6. And the most important thing, is a stable router and does not drop connections (either wifi or the adsl)

I know this is a long list of things to demand from one device, but lets see how many of these can be checked off.

Budget is flexible, but the lower it is, the happier I am. Probably a hard cap at 7-8k.

Thanks in advance for going through this post!

Get a standalone modem and then a Asus RT-N16( Full DDWRT support) . I doubt a combo modem+router with those requirements. The Asus is priced 5.5K.

This one is perfect. I can live without the gigabit if everything else is present.

Where did you pick it up from? and damages?

have you used it for a bit and if so, can you comment on the stability?

Thanks for the info!

Hmm... Although I restrain myself from buying devices that have too many functionalities integrated into it, my 10 cents say that you will be quite satisfied with this one.

I have used Netgear Switches and other Wireless Routers in the past and I'm quite satisfied with the performance. Rashi and Ingram distribute Netgear in India.
