what is the real warranty period on western digital scorpio blue hdd ......some website are mentioning as 1 year but western digital website mention as 2 years for the same harddisk

It depends on when you bought the warranty and your particular model/version. All manufacturers previously had warranties ranging from 3yrs to 5 yrs but now they have reduced it to 1 yr to 2 yr depending on the model. Your best bet is to go to the WD website, they have a page where you input your hard disk serial number and it will show u how much warranty u have left.
If you bought it before January 1st, 2012, then it will have 3 yrs, if after that, 2 yrs on bill date. Similarly for manufacturing date.
