Basically, all I need to do is connect my HP Pavilion dv6516 laptop to my Samsung CRT TV.. Laptop has the following outputs:
1. S-Video
2. VGA
3. HDMI
My TV can accept only RCA or Component inputs.. No S-Video or HDMI. It is pretty much a normal CRT TV..
I would like to connect my laptop to TV in such a way that there is very less loss in detail (I want to watch movies and other stuff on the 29" screen), and the audio should also be from the TV.. Please let me know which would be the best option to make this connection work.. I am considering the following:
1. VGA to RCA cable (only the yellow one) for video; audio by 3.5mm headphone output to RCA (the red and white ones)
2. HDMI to Component video cable..
Which of the above two is better in terms of quality and feasibility..? Any other options other than the ones I have mentioned..? TIA..
