i have 500gb sata hdd internal, so i want to make it externally connected to my pc ... i already have a ide to usb case so i can use the power adaptor from the casing for my sata hdd , then what about the sata cable how can i connect it with my pc externally.... ??

You will need to get a 3.5inch enclosure for it.Which will connect the hdd via usb2.0 or esata if you have one.Go with the transcend 3.5in enclosure, cant's remember the model number,it was reviewed on te.

You can also get a external sata dock but it is not recommended for long use.

You can also buy a cable that connects ide/sata drives via usb. It is useful if you have many drives lying around and don't want a separate casing for each of them.

I had bought one for 450 rupees and found it quite useful.

I was just about to suggest this and u did it...:P
Yes, u should go for this cable than any casing coz casings are prone to power supply problems and this are not. :ohyeah:

Not really, even for a USB cable, you still need to connect power to the drive from somewhere :P

Just Catch Hold of one of these ..

Costs around 250/-.

I am using it for years now. No issues at all.
