Monitors Connecting Hd setup box to monitor

HI,
I am planing to buy sun direct Hd setup box for samsung s2233 monitor but it has only dvi input so wat connector do i need to buy to connect to setup box like hdmi male to dvi female..........wat male or female refers to ?

You need to buy this converter -

Male and Female are types of pin.You can google DVI Male and Female and see difference in images....

how do you get the audio???? dvi does not support it...

use composite cable for audio and connect it to your speakers....

male refers to any port or connectors with pin... n female are the opposite ends... best is to fgo for a hdmi male to dvi male cable which won't need any convertors... one end on monitor and one on stb... will cost u no more than 300/-
