Connecting laptop to PC

I have a Dell Latitude D520 laptop which i want to connect to a Videocon Integra 32" LCD , the laptop doesnt have HDMI but has 7 pin S-Video and VGA , the TV has AV/S-Video/Y/Pb/Pr/HDMI . What exactly do i need to connect the laptop to the TV

yes man s-video to s-videos cables r available or u can use vga to hdmi converter.....

Get a s-video to s-video connecter for it,but keep in mind the image quality will be poor

can the vga cable carry sound?

RCA 3 pin = RGB video out

this will have better video quality than s-video.

you'll have to buy a separate 3.5 mm stereo to RCA cable.

NO.

Get a basic S-Video connector cable for the video (Standard Quality).

Audio output can be fed to a headphone or a music system

else get an audio connector cable to connect it to the TV.

Thanks everyone , got the Svideo cable and 3.5mm to Red and White for audio . Its working fine but resolution is screwed up , the TV is 720p which is 1280*720 i belive , but in the resolution column i see only 1280*960 and upwards . Is there anyway to force a particular resolution ?

your graphic drivers should support output in tv mode.

eg. catalyst in dvi mode (should have it in VGA mode too I guess)

else use a third party app like powerstrip to force a particular resolution.
