Connecting xbox 360 to LCD monitor

Recently I got a used xbox 360. Need to connect it to my LCD monitor.

Monitor has no inbuilt speakers or audio out. It has below connections
DVI-D
VGA
4 USB

How do I connect my xbox 360 to get both video and audio . My 360 is the slim black version. I guess it's called elite. Has a hdmi and some other large output.

You can use the hdmi to dvi wire which would be available in most computer stores.

Getting sound would be difficult mate. You would basically also have to connect the rca wire(along with the hdmi) and put a rca female to 3.5 male/fem depending on your speakers.

You are gonna have a lot of wire clutter!

Looks like Xbox HD vga cable along with RCA to 3.5mm female connector might work. Will get them and check

Using it like this for the past 3 years almost. It does work.

His monitor has to be HDCP compatible. If not, then it wont work.

Using it with my monitor too. It works great.

HDCP compatibility is only required for the PS3. 360 has no such requirement.

Ohh... I was not aware of that. I just assumed that PS3 need it, so XBOX might have the same restriction.

Anyway i got the xbox 360 hd vga cable. The vidoe clarity was quite bad. One of the pin went in while i was plugging it to my monitor. So i am using dvi cable with dvi-hdmi plug to get video and the 2 rca on xbox hd vga cable for audio

The cable works great but your cable was damaged. Any damaged VGA cable works bad as it is based on analogue designs. You should have got your cable replaced instead of spending more on alternatives.Damaged VGA
