Connection closed by Peer.

I usually don't use any private trackers. Most of the stuff I download is from isohunt , piratebay or simple google search for torrents. The downloads work fairly well .I get about 30kbps constant which is decent considering my 256 kbps connection. :ashamed:

But every single time I've tried a Private Tracker , Ive always got this error " Connection closed by peer" It happens with any torrent I try to download using private trackers.

Do these trackers have some restrictions due to which my connection is blocked :S ?

I am using utorrent 2.0 (build 18907). The private tracker in this scenario is TranceRoute.com .

If you've come across such issues earlier and successfully solved it ,your help will be appreciated .

what isp?

sounds like isp throttling. i had this issue when i was using local isp.

before going to them to solve this, try using an older version of utorrent. also, i hope u have port forward and uncheck randomize port in utorrent settings.

Check out the trackers support for utorrent 2.0. If they dont have support then downgrade to the version that they support. Check this in their FAQs

The ISP is a local cable guy.I have a static IP and log in using the 24online client. The problem is only for private trackers, all the public trackers work perfectly fine .

I am not using any firewall other than Windows firewall (utorrent has been added as an exception). Random port selection is unchecked.

The torrent infact shows me the statistics of total seeds and peers but can't connect to any of them.

The tracker supports the latest utorrent . Anyways will still try with some older version .

This is caused by private trackers when they dont recognize the client that is connecting to them ( are you sure you are registered member of the tracker, and your id is not blocked) or they are unable to handle so many requests.

Also since there are multiple people logging in using the same IP address, the tracker might have banned that IP address.

^ I just got an invite from a friend and registered with the tracker a week back ,so this is the first time I am using this particular tracker.

I downloaded about 8-9 torrent files from the site and queued them in utorrent .Could this be a possible reason ?

By the way some 2-3 torrents got downloaded automatically overnight (dunno how :S). Even right now every once in a while one of the torrent connects to 2/100 seeds and downloads at full speed.

The tracker status still shows , connection closed by peer.

I've also downgraded the utorrent to an older version ..

Private Torrents are banned/blocked by 24Online. Public torrents that you use generally get connected to seeds through DHT, PeerExchange and Local Peers. Most proper trackers don't work. BTW, my speeds have been bumped up to 42kbps (I am guessing around a 320kbps connection ?) for the same price. Yours is still on 256 ?
