1 If you actually have an Xbox core console (bought from India) it wont have any place for HDMI. Only the newer Xbox models (not yet launched in India) have an HDMI port.

2 Your next best otion for HD gaming is either the MS official Xbox 360 VGA cable or the MS Xbox component cable.

If your TV has VGA in, then buy the vga cable and connect your xbox with the TV, otherwise, get a component cable and use that

buy component cable which i just bought from ebay. you can send HD signals over it..no need of hdmi.

hdmi and component works same, just hdmi will send out sound too.

Better video quality on HDMI. And Xbox 360 will only do 720p over component, it can do 1080p over HDMI.

AFAIK anyway.

Ah right, sorry. Didnt know that. I have mine hooked with component at 720p on my Samsung. Never bothered to check 1080p as mine doesn't support it. :p

@anshul. Both the VGA and Component cable cost 1700 bucks new. If you want them cheaper look around on Gamingindians.com. Someone might be selling one used. Also I think rahulduggal is selling his on the TE market.

And I have used both VGA and component on a 32" Samsung series 4 and TBH I cant really tell the difference. You will be OK with either one.

I would say go with component as some backwards compatible games don't seem to work with VGA. At least Halo 1 didnt work with VGA, it only worked with component.
