In future if you use windows media player for ripping audio cds which due to default settings creates wma files change the settings using the following steps to directly rip to mp3.
1.In windows media player click on Tools and select Options.
2.In Options select Rip Music tab.
3.You will see a drop down menu under Rip settings labelled format.
4.By default it will be set to Windows media audio change this to mp3 by selecting it from the drop down menu.
