Is Cooler master extreme power duo 600w is as good as Antec or corsair Psu's?

It's costs around 3500 + Tax and does it has ability to serve the Q6600 with 8800gt?

It's says as SLI/Crossfire ready does it has?

Yes it will run Q6600 and 8800GT without any issues.

8800GT only consumes 105W. It cant run high end GPUs like 8800GTX in SLI, it can handle 8600GTS/HD 3850 etc in SLi/Crossfire.

Its value for money SMPS, so dont compare with Corsair or Antec.

you get what you pay for, its a good and stable PSU and consider it as a 500W PSU and you are good to go. Ofcourse if you have the dough then paying a bit extra for a corsair would give you a better PSU.

The CM Xtreme Power 600W is based off a Seventeam 500W PSU. Seventeam ranks right up there among the PSU manufacturers.

BTW the price seems a bit high, it should be 3.5K all inclusive at the most.

Official specs of this particular brand efficiency >70%

Leaves 420W or a bit greater to play with.

Thats not how you read efficiency as.

Efficiency = (DC Output Power / AC Input power) .

In other words, an efficiency of 70% means it would draw ~715W from your AC socket to give out 500W of DC power to your PC.

@Crazy_Eddy

Thanks for putting things back in perspective. Good to know that someone is always watching.

The above consumption of 295W is total AC consumption estimate.

If Efficiency=70% then DC consumption = 206.5W that will be distributed amont all DC rails.

So amount of each rail consumption is not really known unless each DC rail is monitored. That's why PSU selection becomes more difficult.
