Item for sale: Coolermaster Hyper TX (For socket 754/939/AM2 only) (SOLD)
Link:
Cooler Master
(Hyper TX2 is the Hyper TX with 775 support too.)
Price: Rs.850/-
Reason for sale:
Picked up for a friend using AM2- he is selling his rig as he is going out of the country.
I am still in 2 minds about selling this as it's quite a good performer and would love to keep it as standby or gift it to some good friend but also facing a cash crunch. :ashamed:
Condition:
In good condition(fins not corroding/flaking like TR does in Mumbai climes).
Base has machining marks and some darkening on the corners but didn't lap it as i found it acceptably flat and i used to get identical load temps on both cores of my well-behaved chip.
Fan is fairly silent and adequate- i don't think i noticed much gains iirc(if any) by trying a 92mm 56cfm Panaflo H1BX on the same.
Googley baba can throw more light on how it performs wrt to other coolers like AC freezer 64pro, TR Ultra90, etc...
I don't want to comment on the performance to help my sale.
Other comments:
One of the few tower coolers for 939/AM2 that will sit facing the rear case fan in most regular mobos, also cooling the mosfets or RAM due to the orientation and the shroud.
Purchased from kkndka sometime back but unused except for testing on my 939 opty165 at 2.6Ghz (and comparison to other hsfs i have/had).

The fan bracket+shroud has been modded to accept mounting with cable ties so that other 92mm fans, esp those of varying thickness maybe used by using suitably long ties of proper thickness.
Also, cable ties are relatively inexpensive and frequent fan removal for cleaning may see one go through several sets of rubber mounts- ones similar to the stock ones may not be available easily, is available in the first place.
Also modded to accept 80mm fans as i had some high cfm 80mm fans.
This hasn't affected functionality at all imho.
(The original rubber fan mounts will be provided. 4 extra cable ties will be provided too. :rofl
I can use some ghetto but stable mounting to use this on intel 775 for a friend in need of a better cooler than his stock cooler, but i am not comfortable doing it for someone who won't be able to do it on his own- so getting a new cooler for that guy.
