Stig's Indian Cousin!!!
Galvanizer
I got myself an ivy bridge based i5 3550 + gigabyte b75m-d3h a couple of days back. I am currently using the stock hsf that came with it. I observed that the temperatures shoot up to 75-80 degrees while playing a game. the cpu currently idles at 45-55 degrees. I need a good cooling solution within Rs.2500~3000. How good are corsair's liquid cooling solutions and is anything available within that budget?

That budget is too low for a Corsair Hydro series cooler, maybe the H50 but I really would not recommend such a dated product. The options that you can consider are --
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO ~2500/-
  • SVG Tech AOC 120ST ~2500/-
  • SVG Tech HOC 20 [competitor to the Corsair H80 if I am not wrong] ~4500/-

You can order SVG Tech components from this thread http://www.techenclave.com/svg-tech/entire-svg-tech-cooling-lineup-133823/p2/#post1668343 [and do a review if possible for same]. These are the best options you have in your curtailed budget Sire, hope this helps, Cheerio!

Solved the HSF dilemma by going for a Coolermaster TX3 Evo. I owned the CM TX3 which was used for 3 years in my previous build. The reason for choosing the TX 3 evo were as follows:-
- I don't want to overclock my system i.e core i5 3550 and Gigabyte B75M
- I cannot overclock my B75 chipset because it doesn't allow for overclocking - its a high performance business solution with stability as its usp which while being dirt cheap provides the same quality and performance as a z77 chipset. Identical benchmark scores as well.
- The core i5 3550 can not be overclocked as its a 77 W TDP non-k series cpu
- I have 4 x 120mm case fans handling cabinet cooling effectively.
- The CM Hyper TX3 evo is easy to mount and takes less space and provides good performance for its price of Rs.1400
- I had to buy the Hyper TX 3 evo because my old Hyper TX3 doesn't support the intel 1155 socket
- I am using 2 x 92 mm CM blademaster fans in push - pull configuration
- There is a 15-20 degree celcius difference in temperature at both load and idle scenarios when compared to the previous stock intel HSF
