You will need lightning to type c cable and Samsung smart switch software.it will transfer all your data from iPhone to new Android phone.have iPhone 7 and Samsung s21, fold 3,s9 and just checked it is also working on old s9 and iPhone 7.i phone apps will not work on Android so smart switch will download same apps from playe store.not sure about whatsapp data i have not tranfered all data from I phone to android as both phone have whats app data and it can be over written.you can backup you whats app chats to clouds and re-download it.this is how it shows on S9 screen.got this cable from a local shop..

Just my 2 cents, but all the applications that transfer the backups between Android and iOS do so by copying over the data locally, decrypting it completely, then copying it over to the new phone and encrypting it again with a custom version of WhatsApp and then replacing it with the App Store version.

In short, the software has access to all your chats in a completely decrypted form. Anyone offering the service locally is also going to have access to all your messages and media. By using such software or services, you are breaking the encryption and providing someone access to all your chats, so think about it twice before you do so.

I've used Dr.Fone and it was a seamless experience. Worth the license fees IMO.
Tried few so-called free utilities but none worked.

Why is it not possible to just copy over the files from one device and reconstruct them on the new one in a folder to folder copy operation ?

You could either back up the files form one phone to a pc/removable storage possibly....then copy them from the pc to the new phone be it ios or android as suggested here by @nRiTeCh
