Hey all,

I'm looking to buy a pair of cordless headphones, which should satisfy the below criterion:

1) Price: ~Rs.3000 <do suggest some cheaper ones as well!!>

2) Can be connected to a TV's audio-out

3) Doesn't require line of sight (a 'la IR) <not a must, but a definite plus>

Listening comfort is also a big plus! Availibility in India is not an issue, as i hav sm ppl comin over from the US in a while.

Thanks, in advance, for all your suggestions ! :)

EDIT:

These look good, but the site hasn't specified their model no. Any idea about them?

^^ thanx man, but im lookin for something a step above those. :)

Keep the suggestions comin' !!

The model on the site you linked to, looks to be a Sennheiser RS 110.

Decent models, though it would be better to get the ones a step up from them - the RS 120 , since these come with a rechargeable NiMH battery and the base unit acts as a "recharging stand" as well (the RS 110 uses 2 x AAA batteries). If you search well enough, you should be able to pick these up for around ~ 70$ (http://www.thenerds.net/index.php?page=productpage&affid=6&pn=RS120). IMO, the additional cost over the RS 110 is worth it, considering you'd need to invest in rechargeable AAA batteries/charger with the RS 110 unit.

If you want to pick up a really good unit, try the Sennheiser RS-65 : http://www.buy.com/retail/Product.a...0496&Type=PE&Category=Electronics&dcaid=15938

Usually retails around the 190$ mark, so for the price its quite a bargain.

Comes with SRS Surround Sound processing :P

You could pick up a Remanufactured/Refurbished RS-65 pair at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0949?v=glance&n=172282&s=electronics&v=glance

EDIT : Many comments at Amazon seem to be complaining about the durability of the headset, so you might want to give this a skip.

@SF - thx again, mon! Much cheaper than at the site i found.

@Eddy - yep, it sure looks like the RS110! btw, a new RS65 is a WAY above my budget (4k MAX)! Thanx for the links n advice :)

As of now, i think i'll go wid the 110s 'cause i already have a pair of rachargible AAAs. Also, the frequency response of the 110s is marginally higher than that of the 120s, according to the Amazon tech.specs.!!

umm... 1 stupid qn: what is the warrenty i get (if any), on purchasing the headphones on Amazon.com? I looked around the page, but couldn't find any info pertaining to warrenty. Or is there some standard policy??

^

Thats surprising, Sennheiser's site lists the both the models as having the same freq response.

I doubt warranty will make much of a difference here though , but Sennheiser's site (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/warranty/) lists the retail models as having a 2-year warranty. The link SoulFire gave you was for a Refurb product, not sure how much of a warranty is applicable on those.

^^ looks like a typo by Amazon!!
Amazon:
Frequency response: 20 Hz to 19.5 kHz
Sennheiser:
Frequency Response: 22 - 19,500 Hz

I doubt warranty will make much of a difference here though
No doubt abt that, but as long as it has warrenty, i can try n get it RMA'd thru' some1.
Thanx for the clarification!! I prolly wont go in fr a refurb/reman. pair, tho havn't quite decided yet...
