Hi guys,

I recently assembled my PC and started using it.
But CPU gets too hot suddenly yesterday and even get a prompt that PC would be shutdown or delay it by 60 seconds, due to overheating.
I checked in CoreTemp, it says 81 - 85 degree Celsius for almost 4 cores.
Normal temp. under normal usage last I checked was hovering between 40-50 degree(Let me know if its more/less/avg)
I am Using a stock cooler and normal 50rs one TIM bought from roadside vendor.

Also my room temp. is generally hot, so suggest me a CPU cooler according to that(No AC in study room)
I have shortlisted Cheap Gammax CPU cooler, let me know !!

I don't want my ram slot to be occupied, below is snapshot of mobo:

I am using iBall i2241 Cabinet and 2 X 4gb GSkill Ripjaws.

In all probability, this might be the culprit for the present situation.

Unless the processor is overclocked, you really do not need an aftermarket heatsink. You can make do with the stock Intel cooler provided you use a proper TIM.

That Deepcool heatsink has just 2 heatpipes - not sure if it would make a big difference in the load temperatures. Besides, it uses pushpins based installation - not advisable for a tower based heatsink. It may not result in a firm mount considering you have the board oriented vertically in the chassis.

Spend a bit more and get a Cooler Master Hyper 212+/Evo. Snapdeal has it going for 2341 INR. Or get a good tube of thermal paste.

look for either CM TF 400 or DC Z5 .. now AS5 is also good but generally I don't prefer electro conductive Tims.

Guys problem is now coming again.
I have changed my processor, now using Core i3 3220

Normal temp is 44-49C
and Under load, while playing Crysis its 65-70C (still increasing after that)

Now definately going for Hyper TX3 Evo !!

I have noticed that when my ram is running at 1600mhz my i5 overheats like yours. When i run it at 1333mhz it stays at normal temp.

you can only install 92mm fans on TX3 evo but they are pricey compared to 120mm fans - you can get DeepCool 92mm silent fan for around 650 bucks.

Honestly, thats within intel specs, so nothing to worry even at 70'c. Getting the TX3 EVO still is no harm though.

I am/was not into overclocking but still processor is getting heated up since my PC room doesn't have AC or good ventilation.
Last night I played Crysis2 for around 2 hours and every thing in Cabinet becomes very hot including cabinet cover and body.
It prompted me for shutdown since temp was going to be critical.
When i checked temp using HWMonitor:
CPU temp = 84 degree
Mobo = 49 degree
GPU = 68 degree

So I thought a proper CPU cooler is needed, so I bought Hyper TX3 Evo.
Now considering 2nd fan with it.

are you confident that the stock HSF is installed properly..
Try pushing the HSF down, while benching to see if the contact is not great or so...
if you seeee a drop in temps just by pushing it against the proccy...

Idle temp. is always good, i m more interested in load temp. since I have decided to play some good Hi Def games @ high settings.
Thats the reason I have bought His Hd 6870 Iceqx Edition Gfx card, whose load temp is usually 10-15 degree lower than similar counterparts...[DOUBLEPOST=1379581706][/DOUBLEPOST]

I bought below fan, hoping that it will do same as DeepCool 92mm silent fan.

yes, that fan should do the trick .. btw, I'm a little lost lost here : the system shutdown warning / 84c load cpu temp you got with stock Intel HSF or TX3 evo ??

Ofcourse dear stock fan.

I have ordered HTX3 Evo, and was thinking of dual fan setup coz of excessive heat in my room.
Also got the cooler using 300 off coupon and 92mm fan at good price.
