21-30k Core i7 12700KF or Core i7 12700F ?

Please tell me which processor is better to choose, I plan to play and work)
I'm not interested in video editing.
Intel core i7 12700KF, Intel Core i7 12700F or something from i5?
Video card GeForce RTX 4060
Motherboard on 1700 socket, memory will be ddr4.

What are the types of games you play?

I'm assuming you're on 1080p?

Exact budget?
 
Main difference is the "Unlocked multiplier" on the "K" model for overclocking which is not there on the non-K models. But you'll need a good "Z-chipset" motherboard, and not all motherboards are made equal, which costs much more than other chipset boards. General overclocking trend to boost cpu performance has pretty much died due to how good new processors are.
"F" is just "without IGP."
Get the non-K model. It will also cost lower which will make you save money for another component.

Get whichever is cheaper, same performance, but for even better performance at a slightly cheaper cost, i'd suggest the i5 13600K/i5 13600KF. Its simply better.
Whereas, I highly recommend you inform the community about the work you'll be doing, as well as the resolution and kind of games you'll play
Why - This combination seems very unbalaced. Far too powerful CPU and far weaker GPU. If that work involves AI based stuff for any reason, that CPU-GPU isn't ideal. Its not Ideal for gaming either as the CPU is far too overkill for a low end 4060.
If you want to stick to a powerful CPU, then i'd honestly suggest going for an i5 13600KF paired with and a much more powerful RTX 4070 Ti or better.

On the other hand, for a more balanced build for gaming and creative work, (that'll be cheaper), I'd suggest going with an i5 13400F that's a much better pair with 4060 GPU, or some AM5 combination.

People tend to stick to a cpu often too long and frequent on a gpu upgrade instead. I will stress on Core i7 12700KF is a great chip as a near future upgrade compatible as I think ops budget allows for it. On the gpu part he can check on 5600, 6800 or a 7600. But if he still want to hold on 4060 its his choice hut no need to compromise on the cpu.

I suggest you go with a non-F CPU, having onboard graphics saves headaches if you ever need to troubleshoot for display-related issues. I didn't look at the price, but it is usually 1-2k difference at most.

So it boils down to raw performance. Usually, K-series processors have a higher base clock and are overclockable, so they have more raw performance. F or without F doesn't matter much for performance.
