Corning makes anti-reflective coating for screens

One of the most annoying things about using a smartphone is taking it out in the sun. Corning, the makers of Gorilla Glass, have been working on an anti-reflective coating for smartphone screens for a while now to combat that problem.

The company demoed the coating at Computex this year. Hit the jump to learn more about this new tech and see it in action. You can check it out below:


This coating isn’t the screen itself but is applied to the displays of the devices using Zero Air Gap technology and should greatly reduce all reflections, making smartphone use a much more enjoyable experience.


Hopefully Corning will bring this to market sooner than later, as there are few things more annoying that having to cup your hand over your cell phone while walking outside to read a text message and make out whatever is on your screen.
