They were terrible with the IFX-14, not that it was a bad cooler, but the base was not proper and I am not game for lapping. Sort of happy with H50 when it comes to 4G, but not beyond that. Since i am a casual overclocker, i dont mind such temps :P

With IFX-14 :

Stock idle : 46-48

Stock load : 65-70

4G idle : 52-57

4G load : 84-90

With H50 : [Default fan and TIM used -intake]

Stock idle : 37-40

Stock load : 56-59

4G idle : 44-46

4G load : 63-69!

Believe it or not, i got a Corsair H50 !

got it for 2.9k from my cousin who hardly used it for 4-5 months, top notch condition !

Though i am sort of disappointed with the idle temps, but its touching well inside 67 on all cores when clocked to 4G @ 1.23-1.26v.

rather post it in the show off with that price.. :P

those temps look really good compared ot IFX-14

Time for some experimenting.

Will clean the default TIM and use MX-2 with push-pull config. Would be using a 115CFM fan.

Will report back once done. :P

Those temperature deltas look good. Great buy. Am not sure what to do now. A friend is hopping over to the states for two weeks. Am contemplating the Swiftech Apex Ultima (friend can bring it) or the Corsair H50 (buy it here). My chip is idling at 43C on 4Ghz. Slightly on the worrisome side.

43 at idle is pretty much good if its i7. But if your pocket is fine with the Swiftech Apex Ultima, blindly go for it - that is actually the real deal in w/c loop. H50 is for people who just want to make their feet wet when it comes to watercooling.

Actually dont go for Swiftech Apex Ultima, will give you a better choice incase your are interested.

suggested by Toolius.

BTW OCCT is showing 15.68V on your 12V rail... you may want to check with other utilities...

Your first line was suggesting to get the Swiftech unit. But in the second line, you mentioned about "not getting a Swiftech", and offering a better choice, in case interested. What is that...?

ah sorry forgot to paste the link :

Swiftech

Though you will have to choose a good waterblock.

@ Madnav : Everest shows it fine, guess thats a bug in OCCT.

The Swiftech Apex Ultima is showing (NewEgg):

$230.00 - parts

$10.00 - shipping (within US)

$240 @ 45.60 = RS. 10944

Would my friend be charged duty for this..?

Anish:

Thanks for the MCR Link. Will read about it.

^Duty for what? :P

You can safely drag home anything worth 25k from abroad per person. Get a couple of them I say!

Dude get the MCR 320 drive for 209 USD and the Apogee GT CPU block for 40 USD. Thats a triple-rad with an integrated pump. You get all the relevant accessories with that. Buy a bottle of distilled water from the nearest car-battery outlet and you're SET! :D

Man sometimes I feel making a quick trip to Dubai or Singapore is worth the trouble just to able to avoid the shipping costs/delays and duties :@

Im thinking the same man....I really want a good water cooling setup, but refuse to pay the stupid shipping prices.

It really is a good cooler
My phenom2 temps were 45 at normal use and 63 at load

These came down to 35 at normal use and 45 at 100% load with Prime95

1.yes the fan can be mounted in any way, you gust have to flip it.
2.No it wont dry atleast for 2 years, and if it does it will be refilled by them as a part of Warranty
3.I cant say anything about high end air coolers but H50 ROCKS!!!

any of the H50 users tried their luck with delta 120x120x35mm fan ?

inputs appreciated..

im trying to resist the temptation..:ashamed:

one doubt though...

since the pump, waterblock , reservoir all are integrated and coolant is already sealed... how is one supposed to service this unit incase if it is time to replace the coolant ??

is it like use and through (unless DIY mods)..

or is it possible to replace individual components if necessary ?

im concerned about what to do after 2yrs.. as in.. corsair will sell coolant separately or are we supposed to throw it away?

Thats a big question mark, i am not sure :ashamed:

But i have seen umpteen number of DIY mods online, maybe i will just go about that :P
