Counter Strike from College to Internet? help plz

Hi Guys!

I have been trying ways to play counter strike online from my campus from a long time, have tried few ways and i have been able to connect to outside servers, but with very high pings n all, heres my situation

In my college, we can only connect to internet through proxies provided by our institute, and there is no direct net connection, now to connect counter strike online, i have tried using sockscap/proxycap software with http-tunnel/your-freedom software....from these two softwares, i can connect to outside servers on net, but the pings are in 400-600's even with unlimited account from your-freedom.net, i am thinking basically its because of your freedom servers, not being in india n all.....:(

So if there any other way? i mean, can we not buy/pay a server in india that can connect us to counter strike online? basically doing the same thing as other tunneling softwares/servers do? do we have such servers/facilities here? can some1 point out where i can find such servers or any other way?

btw: my college net has speeds of around 10mbps from rapidshare.com, so connection speed wont be a problem...:P

Your ping is high because of your distance from the server and nothing much can be done to lower your ping. Correct me if I am wrong anyone.

Btw, study in college, don't play CS :no:
 
hmm...that is what i was thinking, can i not have such bypassing servers in india, that i can hire?

and we study and play in college....all study n no play makes me a dull boy :P

but the problem is not of availability of indian servers, but problem is i cant connect to them directly, need a server that can tunnel for us, and that server should be here in india...
 
well you can set up your own proxy server at home and use that to play online, try an application called CCproxy, should work although make sure your proxy server is password protected otherwise unwanted ppl would start using it :P
 
if u r frm north india ... u dnt hv ne good servers .....but if u r frm mumbai or surrounding parts then only u can hv low ping gaming servers ...if nt then expect atlest 100 ping :S
 
your internet tunneling work like this with freedom software, coz I know a friend who used in IIT Mumbai long time for downloading at mbit rates.

Your connection --> US proxy --> India --> back to US Proxy --> Back to you.

So yeah its rotating, there's nothing you can do..unless you co-locate a server in some reliance/exatt/spectranet DC :P paying them like 10-20K per month... Cmon fck this I hate it sad we aint in US..every guy on the net there has a VPS ofcourse !!!
 
well, actually i managed to play on net, with few hacking tricks, port forwarding and stuff :P

now i can play on IGL servers at <50 ping :D :D

but i dnt know why, i am getting 350+ pings at Vstreet servers, which were <50 also few days back, before there servers closed for some maintenance , and now i am getting 350+ pings...... :(

Mutant...Can u please tell me the hacks which u used to play...
I am lving in university hostel...
we hav to enter proxy address to browse..
I think that u do the same in ur college
so can u please share those hacks....:D
 
its more of hackin than of hacks, and it depends on your particular network, its layout, and bugs in the network....

Even I need a solution to this , need to take advantage of the wi-fi i have in my campus. :)

y play on net..wen there are 3 or 4 servers runnin at full capacity in lan...
btw which yr are ya...??we hav a cs contest with a fat cash price at mnnit 16th sep...u can participate....:hap2:
