Hi friends,
I planed to upgrad my PC, I want to Upgrade mobo and processor and My budget is 20,000/- Indian rupees for that.
I have some choices also MOBO Asus P5QC (please suggest also)and processor intel quadcore
My current PC config is..
P4 2.66, Mercury i945gc mobo, 4 gb ddr 2 RAM, 80 gb+500 gb HDD, Geforce 9400 GT 1 Gb Graphic card, Zebroniccs 550w PSU

Please suggest the mobo and cpu for compitable with above parts

Thanks

Primary use of computer?
Motherboard= Gigabyte EP45 UD3P/R
CPU= you seem to have made your choice already.

To be honest, instead of spending so much money on CPU+Mobo combo, go for a good dual core setup and invest in a better graphics card.

PS: Also, come on bro, this is your first post here, head over to the introduction area and introduce yourself. :P

quad + 9400GT is like....eh....forget it

still if you want a quad setup then go for:

Mobo- Gigabyte EP45 UD3R - 8.9k

CPU- Intel Q9400 - 12k

Total = 20.9k - [Bargaining]

but it'll be better if u go for E7xxx setup + HD4770 or better

Get the mobo suggested by above guys + Q9400 if you insist on buying a quad otherwise,

Get E7400 + same mobo + 4670 1GB. Should end up under 20k :D

Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestion
Actually I forgot to mention about my requirement for upgrading
I want to upgrade for running Autodesk MAYA and Rendering animations.
Also I am Extreme game lover also

Thanks again for quick respond

Thanks to Techenclave

You can go for a cheaper board and save a bundle, which in turn can go in for a nicer cpu or gpu or both. Something basic along the lines of a g31 , if you want something to oc on etc etc then the P45 makes sense, though im not sure what effect there will be in your applications by going for a cheaper board.

If someone would shed some light on that , it would be great.

Effect on applications?
None that i can see. Although if you're going for a high end quad, it's better to go for something that's optimized for it, to make it a more balanced config.
But IMO, you shoudn't really be going for a high end quad right now.
As it stands, people who are looking for a new intel config, should either look at a nice, powerful, not to mention cheap dual-core setup paired with a G31(Gigabyte's, not just any G31) and a powerful GPU. Notable exceptions might be the really high end dual cores (E8400 and up), who might have more potential than this board can offer(eg. if you want to push higher than 400FSB[x4=1600], which is the rated upper limit, im not saying you can't do it on a G31, im just saying you're better off with components that reach their limit at the same time.)
OR,
Spend a lot more and go with the i7.
People who fall between these budgets should consider options from AMD, which while may or may not outperform their intel counterparts, they provide a much better/easier upgrade path.

@TS
I think you will do a whole lot better with an E5200/E7400+G31, and atleast 7-10k of the budget going into the GPU, if on a budget of 20k odd...

EDIT: Excuse the typos, corrected some... Im a bit sleepy :)
