Hi,My pc have some strange problem here..my cpu fan shows low rpm..it remains below 2000rpm...sometimes even at 1600.so cpu temp goes high upto 58 in half hour.....mobo temp and system fann working fine....

i have amd athlon x2 240 cpu on gigabyte GM61 SME-S2. i have updated latest bios...but in bios cpu status shows amd processor uknown model.....

is there any lack in thermal paste in ccpu fan can cause this problem?

help me.....

even i faced the same problem and i applied thermal paste n changed heat sink, finally in my case motherboard(Intel) is not supplying proper power so i changed my board, now its working good.

but i have used this settings for almost 1 year without any problems..but now it shows low rpm....my cpu clock speed is ok 2.8ghz with unknown model...

the problem seems in bios as its not detecting cpu. which bios version u update ?

as u mention
but i have used this settings for almost 1 year without any problems

and in a year thermal paste won't break down.

first try disabling CPU fan control in bios and see if FAN reaches its max speed.

i have disabled the smart fan mode...and fan runs at full speed..at 3000 rpm..

do not update beta softwares. try to reinstall latest stable version and do not power off pc in betwwen or interupt update process(i think u know that just reminding)

i tried and fan reaches maximum speed by disabling cpu controll fan in bios........

let me remind you that i have tried all the latest bios for my mobo...also i have contacted gigabyte, and they said my mobo does not recognize cpu...but if it's clock speed is same then no need to worry about amd processor model name......when i start the computer cpu fan speed is around 1600..and temp is 37, when i use my computer for aroud 1 hour then it reaches automatically adjusted to temp and reach 2000...

Is there any problem if i disabled the cpu fan speed in bios...and run it to maximum......

Thanks for reply..
