Cpu Gets Overheated - Shuts Down Within A Minute

:help: HEY FRIENDS:goku:

PLZ HELP ME AS MY INTEL P4 STOCK FAN'S LEG:oops: - ONE OUT OF FOUR(THE FOUR STANDS A FAN HAS - WHOSE ENDS GOES THROUGH THE MOBO PLATE AND GETS LOCKED) THAT LEG'S MOST LOWER END THAT GOES THROUGH THE MOBO PLATE (WHITE PLASTIC TYPE MATERIAL), GOT CRUSHED YESTERDAY , WHEN I WAS SETTING IT ON MY NEW MOBO.

NOW WHAT TO ? AS MY CPU GETS OVERHEATED WITH IN A MINUTE N SHUTS DOWN, PLZ HELP ME AS I AM TYPING THIS FROM A CYBER CAFE:cry:

HEEEEEEEEELP MMMMEEEEEEEEEEE OUTTTTTTTT:huh:

or suggest me a better cooling thing in 2 price ranges above and below 1k upto 2.8.

as i wanna oc my system too:cool2:

^yupp! Most appropriate solution,go buy intel hsf for <200,and start ur machine,try to find one with more weight on heat sink ,it will serve u dual purpose i.e. Better temp !
 
get the stock sink as already been recommended.

there really is not point in ocing a P4.. won't really yield you much improvement in terms of performance.

dude zanderzone is sellin some old stock intel heatsinks contact him....

cheers

aah is it socket 478 or 775??...if latter then zanderzone is having some as spare unused heatsinks of e8xx series n quads

otherwise get some universal cooler for all sockets.
