Hi,
Writing this thread to see if my CPU is behaving normally. I wouldn't have expected it to be running this hot while playing a much easier game like CS2.
CPU ideals at 43c. But jumps to 70c whenever an app is used. There is almost no in between.
Playing a light game like CS2 gives me a steady 75c ish temp, and any heavier game like Rivals, Elden Ring, or Hogwarts gives me easy low-80c temp.
My GPU temps stay around the 65c temps, which is grand.
Mine's a full loop watercooled system with a 7950x, 4090, 280 Radiator + 240 radiator, in a Meshilious case.
I built the system almost two years back, and didn't notice the CPU temps this high at that moment.
Had to move and all, so the system was dormant for more than a year. Was just recently able to dust it up and switched it on.
After noticing the CPU temps, I reseated the CPU, cleaned up the CPU block for debris. Drained the loop couple of times. New thermal paste. Still didn't change much.
Finally, I am running an underclock on the CPU:
Curve optimiser per core about -15 to -21 on each core. Negative offset of 0.055 mV on the CPU. And TDP of 105W. PBO limit of 85c. And I still have this problem.
I am just wondering if this is normal behaviour, as I really don't remember having similar temps before when I built this system.
Sorry for the bother.
