CPU usage goes to 100 only when I access one particular folder..

Explorer
When I try to access one particular folder on my computer, my computer slows down tremendously. This folder has many videos.

When I double click on one of those videos, WMP 10 opens up but instead of playing, it just hangs and even if I close it, the Task manager shows wmplayer.exe as using up 50% of CPU resources. I end the process from Task Manager.

And even then the comp is damn slow because explorer.exe is using 100% of CPU resources.
At this point, the only thing I can do is to log off my account and re log in. This solves the problem until I try going to that folder again.

What do I do?? Help please!!!

are u using thumbnails (or icons) view option there? if so ... change tht to details or list view ... this may help.

i too had that problem... changing to list view does help but doesnt help completely...

when u click a particular file windows tries to get the file info and windows media player tries to get the snapshot for displaying in the details portion in the left toolbar in explorer... these things too increases the cpu usage. click on ^ displayed in Display details toolbar to disable it... helps a bit more...

Well, I deleted the file I added last to that folder. It solved the problem. Looks like that particular video had not downloaded properly and was corrupt.

Anyway problem solved.

PS: Changing the views did not help
