I overclocked my CPU through the BIOS to 3.4Ghz at te stock voltage. Now when i restarted my comp and saw the speed it showed that my speed has increased from 3ghz to 3.4ghz and the temperatures have gone up by 6C. But when the computer boots up and i oen CPU-Z it shows me 3ghz only.. I changed the RAm to 1:1.66 from 1:2 in the BIOS, that change is shown by CPU-Z but not the CPU.

What could be the priblem. I have abit ip35e mobo and 3ghz 2mb/.800mhz procyy.

Why U want to OC P4 man?? no gain from 3 to 3.4

Try this - > Go to advanced BIOS features -> CPU feature -> Disable EIST, C1E and Thermal control

Tell me this much .. will i get the same performence if i OC my E4500 to 3ghz with ultima90 heatsink and OC my E6550 to 3ghz using Ultima90.. Will I see any difference in the working.. Both are Core 2 Duo, 1 has 1333Mhz FSB while the other has 800MHZ FSB, 2mb L2 & 4MB L2 .. Will i find significant difffrence in using heavy application.. Cpu intensive Application that use CPU to a 100% ..

not much of a difference....it really depends from one application to the next

the performance difference at max would be 10-15%
