Crap pings with Airtel Chennai during the day

Is anyone else experiencing this with their usual gaming servers? For the past two weeks or so, my friend and I have been getting very poor pings everywhere during the day. We've experienced this while trying to play dota over Garena (with people on other ISPs as well as Airtel users in other cities), dota 2 to SG / MY servers, and Counter-strike: GO.

It probably isn't a problem with my line as he lives across the city and has the same problem. The funny thing is it's perfectly fine after around 8 PM with absolutely no lag in any games.

I don't even know how to complain about something like this to the boneheads at their Customer Care.

Yes, all my friends who have airtel, there's a reason it's called craptel.

The thing is I've been using Airtel for close to 7 years or so now and I've never had any major problems. Pings were always fine, download speeds are great, and I can't remember the last time I had any downtime.
