On trying to play Oblivion, while keeping the D3D option on, the game simply crashes. The load bar reaches the end and then the "Windows is closing Oblivion" message appears.
For Assassin's Creed, the voices stutters a lot. Every time a new voice sequence starts the voices stutter.
Both these problems disappear if I turn off D3D, but then the sound reverts to 2 channels instead of 5.1
I have the latest drivers for all the hardware(audio, video, chipset, etc) including the latest BIOS for the motherboard.
I have the following PC configuration.
E8400 OC to 4GHz
Abit IP35-Pro
EVGA 8800GTS 320MB
Logitech Z-5300
I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I bought this card mainly for its good Vista x64 support.
How can I fix this and get surround sound in games?:S
