Well, I was trying to install the software/drivers for it from the CD.

I got an error

http://www.techenclave.com/forums/demoshield-problem-66105.html

I tried the same CD in another Dell lappy and it worked FINE. Of course, I quit that installation before it actually happened.

I went back to the Toshiba and the same error occured.

The history of this is like this. Initially it worked fine. Perfectly. Then one day, something went wrong and the sound stopped coming from 2 of the 4 speakers of the 4.1.

My uncle uninstalled the whole thing and then tried reinstalliung it but it did not work. He got the same error.

I tried uninstaling again and even used Driver Cleaner 3. Still no go.

Anyway, then I uninstalled the Creative Aud 2 ZS Notebook and then tried reinstalling it. I disregarded the quick start guide and installed through the "Add new hardware wizard" and I selected the CD-ROM as the source for the driver.

The card worked fine. Except that I could not manage to get sound from all 4 speakers. And of course, there is no software installed which allows me to choose between stereo and surround, etc.... If I could install the Creative softwares from the CD, that problem would be solved. 0

Then I uninstalled it again. And the built in speakers did not work. The error was that "No sound device detected". Dug out the old Toshiba manual and saw that the sound device was "Realtek ALc202". Downloaded latest drivers for that and at least those started working fine.

but I am still not able to install the Software/drivers from the Creative CD. Nothing is wrong with the CD. I tried the CD on another comp and it is fine.

Please help me guys......

@Goldie --- Did that...... But on the net, the drivers/software available on the CD are not available. Only the updates are available and to install that, you need to istall the basic s/w first.

@Dipdude--- Will try that....

My uncle keeps updating the itunes software and so, maybe he did update QT alos .....

Thanks Dipdude!!!!! It worked!!!! Finally.....

Anyway QT was not uninstalling. so, I just deleted the whole goddamn folder and installed the Creative software.

Now, itunes is not working :P

But that is ok...... am redownloading itunes right now!!!! Along with 7.0.4 version of Quick Time.
