This is a fantastic product to hook up ur Analog Speakers to Digital Output DVD Players & with this powerful
decoder in between it can handle all your Audio Connections.
Techtree says it costs 9.7K - 18May05

Hope you like it.

This is the 3rd time i'm telling you...... its listed for 9700/- in Techtree Hardware Prices List 18th May 2005.

Well, on second thoughts, one would only use this product with ultra cheap DVDPs, as even the budget players have DD and DTS decoders onboard. So, that'll be 9.7 + 3K for dvdp = 12-13K...for which we could get a kickass DVDP with stunning videa/audio quality, DD and DTS decoders, and maybe even progressive scan.

Its only use would be if one needs more connection options, like tv, console, ipod etc.

Dont know why no comments on this beautiful peice of Hardware have come from
our TE Audio Pro's

Guys wanted to know ur opinion on this product.

yes.......

And if you are planning to use with the computer then note that latest soundcards like Audigy 2 ZS, etc can decode Dolby Digital, DTs, etc.... itself. So, which ever speaker you connect, you are getting a Dolby digital output.

This is mainly for use with PS2, Xbox, etc...... and to connect more than just your speakers to your PC. And many DVD players come with Dolby Digital decoding.

So, for around 8K you can buy a high quality DVD player with progressive scan, Dolby Digital decoding. Why spend money on this decoder???

my thoughts exactly...

However, this thing is useful if one wants to connect consoles or mp3 players, etc.

It's been stopped because of the reasons mentioned on the posts! What are you intending to connect to this external decoder anyway?

PS: It's a pretty old thread!
