This is great news for those looking to buy a cheap yet better solution for sound (namely the SB Live) also great news for people already having the same card :hap2: and wanting to go the Vista way

I cant find driver for my card 'SB Live! value' (CT4830 model no.) was it not released yet.

Is there any third party driver which I can use, as of now I am using Microsoft developed driver for my card but its only sounding in front speakers where as when I test all 4 speakers & 1 woofer works, don't know what wrong.

Dude..if your sound card is SB live 24 bit then you can use the above mentioned driver

A little advice..you should try out you old trusted XP driver with vista..really

I used my xp drivers with vista and they worked beautifully (I was using SB audigy value)

The only think I did was I run the installer in XP SP2 compatibility mode and after installing i disabled "Synchronise with control panel" option in speaker setup..

Everything including CMSS 3D,equalizers,effects ran flawlessly

Oh thats a great advice, if it works.

I am not sure if its 24bit or not, let me try this right now.

UPDATE

Ok it installed finally as per your suggestion but the audio control panel & the mixer is not loading yet. I have made the xp compatibility changes to the loader file too, yet its failing.

Giving errors "cannot initialize audio drivers, reinstall drivers"

Where do I disable the "Synchronize with control panel" I dont see that option in my case? may be tahst causing the problem.
