Creative has introduced a new media player to its ZEN family. The ZEN Vision W features a 4.3" 16:9 widescreen display and will be available in 30GB and 60GB versions. With the 60GB model, users will be able to cram up to 240 hours of video onboard.
The ZEN Vision W also features a built-in CompactFlash Type II slot so that users can import pictures directly from their digital cameras. The ZEN Vision W also supports a wide variety of video formats including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4-SP, MJPEG and XviD. The removable battery pack is good for up to 4.5 hours according to Creative. Other goodies included in the package include the ability to output images/video to a TV, a built-in FM tuner, microphone, integrated organizer that syncs with Microsoft Outlook and USB 2.0 connectivity.
The 30GB model is expected to retail for $399, while the 60GB model will go for a $100 more. Availability hasn't been announced for the US market although it is expected to be released in Asia this September.
Creative had originally delayed the release of the new Zen due to the litigation between Creative and Apple. Both companies claimed the other infringed on digital media player patents surrounding the Zen and iPod players, but Apple just recently capitulated.
