Credit Card chargeback in India

I received a broken item from an ebay seller, ebay is of no help so now thinking of filing one. But everyone in my circle tells me India and customer protection don't go hand in hand. So chargeback might not work.

How has everyone's experience with chargebacks been?
 
yes, there's no protection/chargeback offered by indian CCs in my experience. i tried couple of times with citibank and mastercard but they didn't help me.

Very much it's there u can file charge back with CC had personally done that with HDFC BANK and did got my money back when paypal did not helped me.
 
Whenever i have filed chargeback i have always received by SBI CC . Even 27k once from ishopinternational . Haven't tested it with HDFC CC
