Forum Feedback Credits/Reputation system?

Reputation system was never part of xenforo. Credits is also a third party add-on. Lately I have been disabling add-ons which slow down the forum but dont add any significant value to user experience.

Credits do not seem to be serving any purpose. We had planned to keep a merchandise store linked to it but that didnt work out.

I know @avi went all out acquiring them. He is crying in a corner because of you disabling it.

In all seriousness I liked the reputation system the best (even though not possible) compared to the like system because they were hard earned unlike the facebook like system. Credits is okay but does help classify members

Well it did helped some people to spam new threads to milk those sweet sweet credits lol.

IMO that was because it was poorly/improperly implemented. And members instead of prioritizing important/popular discussions they just spam posts. At least that was what I noticed. There also seemed to be some problems with the whole "exchange your credits for rewards" thing with members not getting their stuff on time. Maybe if you can improve in those areas people will like to be more active or post more.

I don't think "Buying with money" merchandise store will work. Unless you are willing to burn some cash. TE is not popular when compared to the more popular Indian tech forums for a merchandise store to be a hit. I would say the other forum is more popular even though the main attraction is its Bazar.
For now only some members are active and I don't see TE promoting itself. No tech news, no articles, no writers nothing to cement it's place.
I'm sure you can come up with better ideas and solutions here. Just again what I feel is hindering the forum's growth. Will share more again later.
 
A forum appears noncompetitive without such reputation or credit system. In fact its the very reason to keep members busy posting something or other either sensible or senseless (senseless stuff should be moderated and deleted which auto-deletes the credits/reps earned).
Without such system TE will be just plain boring platform. Much of the discussions happens on the whatsapp groups itself. Bring something new which will pour in excitement and will be added attraction for existing and new coming members.

"Such Add-ons slows down"...agreed but now that TE is on local server and faster than before then why not bring back the good old Credits addon back. You can very well test it and m sure it wont get slow.

Now it feels we wasted and lost all our credits for bad.
At least restore the credit system for temporary purpose so we all can buy the merchandise and put our hard earned credits to some use rather than simply deleting/forgetting them. Dont let it go waste.

Wanted to highlight, today much of the discussions happen on whatsapp groups itself.
Previously even for a minor query user used to create a new thread. That has considerably declined off late.

We can only suggest on features. Rest its your choice, bring it back, introduce new or scrap it.

Bring back the credit system, let us utilize our credits and scrap it and never ever introduce such feature again.
Or simply bring back the credit system and let it thrive as before.

I am reading soo many articles on sites and confused.
users try to confuse with fake sites and lot of stuff, sir please help
i messaged few staff,. noone replies
 
He must be referring to those who keep posting about some software or tool while giving some outside link which may no necessarily point out directly to the geuine or original developers site.
