PC or consoles are for slaying monsters. Big, huge hairy and slimy monsters... like those in Gears of War or Doom. Like this :gun2:

Can't join army man... can't even procure a rifle or an army grade knife without convincing hundreds of Babus.
But yes I can definitely go out, get a real bat and ball and three sticks to use as wickets and have a blast with friends :bleh:

Is that the only reason you play FPS games... Cause you cant get a gun... sheesh... So according to you one should not do anything on computers what he/she can do in real life :|

FPS or for that matter any other computer game is, theoretically, an egoistical exercise. The reason why computers and Internet have changed our society — apart from the obvious blah blah on productivity and convenience — is that they allow us to supplement our fantasies in some way that, though may not be real, is able to provide our sense with an instant gratification. It's something that we can't get in real life because, first real life is not that forgiving and neither free of bias and barriers, and second because there are physical limitations to the extent we can realise our fantasies.

Video games largely deal with with the gamers' fantasies and not with some productivity aspect. In the same manner real games differ from video games as they provide a physical simulation that has real life benefits and allow the players tangible results like a twisted ankle.

If one can, real games are always preferable to video games unless you are a budding pilot learning to fly an A380 by using simulation program because you have no right to put life of hundreds at stake.

But, I realize you can't always substitute video games with real games because, as I noted above, there are aspects to video games that real games lack.

Of course, we are not talking about that. My point here is that when you can go out and play a real game of cricket, there is no point moving rag-doll models on a computer screen. It's as simple as that. If there are people who still prefer to play cricket on computer screen in INDIA even if they have no physical bindings to do so, IMO these people need to grow up, come out of their dungeon, switch-off their rigs, smell some fresh air and stare at the sun.
