cant even wait for 1 day? thats exactly y they have kept activation. its a very smart move. people will preorder game just to play the demo 1 day earlier hence even more sales.

bittu its not about 1 day. what i don't like is this trend that dumfuk marketing departments are coming up with now. pre order to play demos, subscribe to fileplanet to play betas or demos. what's next?

remember the days of shareware? you get 1/4th of the game for free and if you want, pay for the rest. now you have to pay for something that should be free. this demo has a 1 day time gap, what if the next demo is 2 weeks or 1 month? as it is, demos rarely get released before the full game nowadays. i would just hope that crytek would respect their market, but that doesn't happen when you're in bed with ea.

edit : and that 1/4th used to be longer than the full games we get nowadays too...

edit 2 : i guess i'm also irritated with how crytek handled their last demo thing (which was due a month ago) which was also a disaster. this is now tied with bioshock for stupidity vis. demos.

When you get the demo, do let me know how it runs at 1024x768 4xAA 8xAF, all effects low except textures at a resonable level of sharpness :)

errmm last i remember you had a bfg 6600 and were planning on an x19xx upgrade... what happened?
 
I had to bear only around 1k in differences after getting rid of the 6600GT, so figured why not for a gpu faster than the 6800 Ultra.
Plus didn't have enough cash to make the shift to PCIE anyway.
