crysis error - help!!

i recently started playing crysis and played the first mission without any problem but in the second mission the game hangs without warning and gives the following error

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Crysis.exe
Fault Module Name: d3d10core.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.0.6000.16386

what could be the issue and how can i resolve it. thanks. :( :(
 
from the name and version one can easily makeout u are on vista ... hav u updated the patch of the latest version ?? which is 1.2.1 ... if not then update it .... mostly the crash occur on the *ahem* versions and bad no-cd's ... but i consider u are on original :p ... still i would say patch it to the latest version ...
 
Patch the game , and also make sure u have SP1 , SP1 solves lots of problems in Crysis , a lil bit of performance boost , as well as lots of random crash errors and also resolves the Save Game bug
 
thanks for the replies guys, will download the patch and hope it runs without any problems.

will make it make a difference if i play on high instead of very high settings??
