CS Online playing problem

hie guys

i have installed CS 1.6 and was trying to play online by connecting servers from all over the world.

I am on MTNL 1mbps line.

Whenever i connect then and select my team and start the game .. i find myself kicked out of the game due to HIGH PING.

NOW WHAT IS HIGH PING ??? :@

Also my latency also high while playing game. Somewhere around 166.

What to do to reduce latency/high ping so i can play CS online ? :(

First You need to stop downloading before playing the game - neither d/l nor seed

Second , do not run any background apps which need a net connection to run it will be a PITA

Third , Mention your rig specs , it could just be that you might not have the right rig to play the game which could result in sad FPS which will give you a high ping.

Latency / Ping (Same thing in gaming although different definitions) - This is the amount of delay you(your computer) might experience while sending/receiving information to the server. Ping in CS is measured in (ms) - im guessing that'd be milli seconds. Well a 50 ms ping is better than a 246ms ping - because a 246 ms ping takes that much longer to receive the information than 50 ms.

Also there might be a choke loss -this will result in shots(firing) not registering - i.e you shoot but the other person doesnt die

-Basically u need to loosen the comp's net-usage and conc all the bandwidth on the game - that will free things up . Also try playing in Indian servers you could start off here for example Game Tracker - CS 1.6 India - Since the distance between your network and the server is less - this may result in lower latency (generally) - Try Axep.in servers / Joister servers - they are hosted from mumbai. Not zerotech - too much of lag there . Also are you playing through steam/ non steam ?

Buy CS: Source. It's for 600(MRP)bucks, you won't regret buying it.

You will be kicked generally if you have ping more than 100ms. Find good Indian server to play on, you will get good ping.
 
can you tell me names of good indian servers ?? there are so many servers when i click on find servers in internet tab.

Also how to recognize particular server is from india or not ???
 
How did you install it...
If its thru steam then sort according to Latency below 100 to get a good game and then join....

If its direct without steam then I have no idea as I haven't played non steam

And its something like 400 bucks for CS anthology 1.6 + CZ which is worth it

I hope you would have found out that none of the resolution or comments helped you rite ?

Even if you buy CS : source / TF it wouldn't help you :)

Reason : Steam updated there overylay UI which has created lag problems for some of the users.

Resolution :

1) Disable Wi-Fi on your router ( even if you are connected through lan cable, disable WZC from services.msc.

2) Open the game, connect to a server, wait for the ping to become high.

Now Disconnect from server, minimize the game.

Disconnect and reconnect your internet connection to get a new IP.

Connect to server and play peacefully.

3) Only for MTNL ( try getting the IP belonging to xx.xxx.19x.xxx range )

Yes it will. He has already said in the OP that he is trying to connect to servers all over the world which makes no sense when we have more than 50 CS servers hosted locally right here in India.

abhisinalkar, manually ping some of the IPs from the following list, it will give you an idea about what kind of experience you can expect if you buy CS.

yup

i can play with indian servers but can not with other countries
 
Hello, first of all, you are discussing about non steam game. And obviously that is illegal. Go buy, any Counter Strike version, it's worth of any penny you spend. Play on Indian and Singapore servers so that you'll get <100ms ping. You will not be kicked anyway and will enjoy the game free of lag.

You'll enjoy the game even more when you purchase it. :)

Warning - You'll be blacklisted if you play it on VAC secured servers. So it's better to play on Non VAC Secured servers only if you are willing to play illegally.
 
Yups totally .. and you'll find a better (global) player community to interact with .. and learn a lot more ..
